You know how people always want to raise awareness about health-related diseases, like breast cancer awareness month in October? People living a Child Free Life need to raise awareness about our lifestyle. So with that being said let’s raise some awareness and get a few things straight about living a Child Free Life.

Here are 10 things people get wrong about Child Free Living.

PS: I’m going to make a bunch of generalities so you’re just going to have to deal with that.

It’s Child Free, not Childless or Childlessness (even worse.)

Living Child Free is a choice (for most.) Child Free implies that we made a conscious choice to live without having Children. Childless or Childlessness implies that we’re missing out on something that we should have. These are very different things.

Yes, I intentionally decided not to have a Child.

My bet is that Breeders didn’t put much thought into whether they wanted to have a Child or not. They just did it because they figured they needed to.

A couple is a family.

You do not need to have Children to be a family! Married couples will say they’re looking forward to “starting a family.” This implies they are not a family with just the two of them together. DUMB!

No, I do not regret my decision to live Child Free.

It was a decision I thought long and hard about. Next time ask a parent if they regret having a child. You’ll get some great reactions.

Just because someone is living a Child Free life does not mean they hate Children. But they might 😊      

There are many people living Child Free that like children. They just don’t want any. Then there are some that just don’t like children at all!

Yes, people living Child Free will judge people that chose to have children, just as parents will judge us for not having children.

Ok, this one isn’t specific to people living a Child Free life. This is true for the majority of people. We don’t need to see pictures of how much they’ve grown, hear about how made honor role, or what they did over summer break. Just stop. Please. Stop.
